Ak💛mapa Village is just that – a village. It is Ghanaian-owned and family-operated. In addition to being a hotel, it also serves as a commUnity art and culture center.
FUN FOR THE FAMILY!
DANCE & DRUM LESSONS
Children from the community learn and perform traditional Ghanaian dances and drumming. After-school classes and homework support are offered as well as free meals every Sunday. A school is also under construction to better serve the children of the Akomapa junior culture group.
PERFORMANCES BY REQUEST
Guests are able to view and participate in on-site dance performances as well as receive private or group dance and/or drum lessons. Ras Kobby is the founder, owner, and master drummer of Akomapa Village.
GIFT SHOP ON-SITE
Guests are also able to purchase hand-carved drums from the Akomapa gift shop made by Ras Kobby himself!
We offer African dancing and drumming classes (djembe and other African drums). Participate in our Akomapa Theatre for Shows featuring African dancing, drumming, and acrobatics. Drinks and refreshments are also available at our bar as well as food if preordered. Visit the reasonably priced African Art and Craft Shop. Enjoy a nice ocean view from the terrace with the ocean breeze.
